Mr. Roberts Comes to Bridgeport Public Schools
Bridgeport Public Schools Board of Education and Administration would like to introduce you to our new band instructor, Mr. Gordon Roberts.
Mr. Roberts is from Sidney, Iowa and recently graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) with a music degree.
Before going to UNO to study music, Mr. Roberts attended Iowa State University (ISU). At ISU, Mr. Roberts was a drum major with the ISU Marching Band. Mr. Roberts graduated from ISU with a major in English. While at ISU, Mr. Roberts received the award for Most Exemplary Band Member.
While at UNO, Mr. Roberts was a member of the UNO Symphonic Wind Ensemble. In 2005, Mr. Roberts received the award of Outstanding Graduate in Music Education.
As a member of Bridgeport Public Schools Faculty, Mr. Roberts brings us great skills and enthusiasm along with high expectations for students. He is anxious to build the band into a solid team and a cohesive group that will prepare them for next year's marching band competition.
We hope you have a chance to meet Mr. Roberts and welcome him into our community and our school.
