Wrestlers take on Panhandle at WTC

The Bridgeport wrestlers competed at Western Trails Conference on January 3 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace. The Bulldogs battled five teams on the mat, but came up short for they didn’t place as a team.
Against Mitchell the results are as follows: Chance H lost 7-9 against B. Huston in the 119 match. In the 125 match Nicholas L was pinned in 2:51 by N. Pfortmiller. T. Acton pinned Tyler E in 1:04 in the 135 match. R. Garza beat Shane L 5-21 in the 152 match. Taylor C changed things up when he pinned Peterson in the 171 class in 2:25. Chance C gave the Bulldogs another win when he pinned B. Rudloff in 2:30 in the 189 weight class. AJ L was pinned by J. Osingr in 2:10 in the 215 match. The final score against Mitchell was 12-68.
Versus Kimball the results are as follows: Nicholas L was pinned by Jordan Stahla in 2:41 in the 125 lb. match. T. Hinton pinned Tyler E in the 135 weight class. Shane L was pinned in 1:10 in the 152 weight class by D. Caulkins. Chance C won his match in the 189 weight class by pinning J. Hairgrove in 1:54. AJ L also won his match by pinning J. Ferguson in 1:04 in the 215 lb. class. The final score was 18-60.
Against Hemingford the results are as follows: Nicholas Lapaseotes pinned A. Jensen in 3:31 in the 125 weight class. In the 135 weight class Tyler Eichthaler pinned Z. Solberg in 2:40. Taylor Covalt won his match in the 171 match by forfeit. Chance Cunningham pinned M. Bergfield in 3:24 in the 189 weight class. J. Hass won by major decision, 2-11, over AJ Luce in the 215 lb. match. The final score against Hemingford was 30-40.
Versus Banner County the results are as follows: M. Olson pinned Nicholas L in 3:13 in the 125 weight class. In the 135 lb. match G. Lapaseotes pinned Tyler E in 2:25. Shane L, Taylor C, Chance C, and AJ L all won by forfeit in each one of their weight classes. The resulting score against Banner County was 24-42.
The resulting scores against Morrill are as follows: In the 125 weight class Nicholas L was pinned by S. Manley in 3:35. Tyler E won by forfeit in the 135 lb. match. J. Gonzales pinned Shane L in 1:40 in the 152 weight class. T. Hudson beat Taylor C, 8-6 in the 171 lb. class. In the 189 weight class Chance C won by forfeit and in the 215 lb. class AJ L also won by forfeit. The final score versus Morrill was 18-33.
Even though the Bulldogs didn’t win as a team, there were many that won their individual matches. The wrestlers’ next match is against Sidney on Thursday, January 10. Good Luck Wrestlers!
